First Gate In
After onboarding, the next operational milestone is your first Gate In with data that matches your clients and equipment.
What you need first
- Operational depot — At least one active client and tariff (see Configure your depot).
- Container data per ISO 6346 (four letters + seven digits) and correct size/type.
- Yard map (optional) — If locations exist, you can assign a slot at Gate In; if not, Gate In still works without a yard destination.
Recommended steps
- Open
/dashboard/depot/gateand choose Gate In. - Select client and container number.
- Enter size, type, and shipping line if applicable.
- If a yard map exists, assign location (or use stacking suggestions).
- Optional: photos and truck data (plate, carrier).
- Confirm Gate In. The unit is in yard and ready for inspection if your process requires it.
Tips
- For many units at once, use batch Gate In.
- Align appointments with gate windows if you use time slots.
